This guide contains practical advice for developing and strengthening cross-system networks of community support essential for addressing the expansive ways SUDs impact the lives of AI/AN PPP, their infants, partners, and families.

Course Objectives

  1. Identify the three Points of Intervention and acknowledge fears or apprehensions AI/AN pregnant people with SUDs have that stop them from accessing available services.
  2. Comprehend work and state responsibility requirements for notifying vs reporting to CPS under the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA).
  3. Recognize the imminent benefits of enhancing patient education, activity participation, and integrating care systems for overall better health outcomes.
  4. Connect with other healthcare organizations to exchange valuable information and formulate intervention strategies.
  5. Provide staff education with an emphasis on enhancing the quality of services delivered and strengthening families for healthier communities.
