Course Objectives

  1. Review the literature to discover strategies for treating clients with mental and substance use disorders to deliver group cognitive-behavioral anger management treatment.
  2. Identify the four basic interventions employed in the combined CBT treatment manual model and the importance of recognizing the conceptual framework for understanding anger.
  3. Discuss model strategies with other healthcare professionals to implement client group-based intervention methods for people with substance use and mental health problems experiencing anger management issues.
  4. Maximize client participation by establishing fair group rules of conduct, providing support, and utilizing the conflict resolution model.
  5. Reinforce client-learned concepts and encourage the ongoing development of anger control plans with a follow-up monitoring system.<br />
